What is Sciatica?
Sciatica is mainly referred to as the pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, which twigs from your lower back through your hips and buttocks and down your leg. Mostly, sciatica only affects one side of your body. It most commonly happens when a herniated disc, bone spur on the spine, or spinal narrowing compresses part of the nerve.

Symptoms of Sciatica

Sciatica tends to occur whenever the sciatic nerve is pinched, generally by a herniated disc in your spine or by an infection of the bone (bone spur) in your vertebrae. More infrequently, the nerve can be compacted by a tumor or harmed by a disease like diabetes.
Risk Factors of Sciatica
● Age- The most common causes of sciatica are age-related changes in the spine, such as herniated discs and bone spurs.
● Obesity- By increasing stress on your spine, excess body weight can contribute to changes in the spinal cord that trigger sciatica.
● Occupation- A work that involves you to twist your back, carry heavy loads, or drive a motor vehicle for a long time may have a role to play in sciatica, but there is no conclusive evidence of this link.
● Extended sitting- People that sit for long periods or have a sedentary lifestyle are more inclined to produce sciatica than are active people.
● Diabetes- This situation, affects your body’s use of blood sugar, increases your risk of nerve damage.
